Hi, I’m Chelsea Augusto
I began my career as a substance abuse counselor in 2013 at Framingham State Prison. I have since worked in various clinical settings, including McLean Hospital in Massachusetts and Neurodiversity Counseling Services in Arizona. Over time, I realized that my clients who were struggling with anxiety and OCD also had a history of family trauma, even if they did not know it at the time. This ignited my interest and passion of learning everything I could about the intersection of these conditions and how to heal trauma that is specifically rooted in family-of-origin. Overcoming personal challenges with generational trauma and addiction continues to play a significant role in my work.
My first official role as a therapist was with Neurodiverse Counseling Services (NCS), and I am forever grateful to them for the incredible experiences of working with ADHD, autistic, and highly sensitive individuals. It was NCS that encouraged me to build a private practice, which allows me the flexibility to be neurodiversity-affirming, up-to-date on best practices and fully present with my clients.
When I am not in the therapy room, my interests include training my therapy dog (who looks forward to meeting you), spending time with loved ones and in nature, reading, and learning piano. My life’s work is my passion. So, I am often learning all that I can to support individuals and relationships navigating the impacts of family trauma, anxiety, and OCD.
